The fellow will work full-time towards an MD(res) or PhD degree under the supervision of Dr. S. Saadoun and Prof. M.C. Papadopoulos within the Department of Neurosurgery. The project involves culturing human olfactory ensheathing cells, from olfactory bulbs, and implanting them into injured human spinal cord to promote neurological recovery.

National Training Number in Neurosurgery and successful attainment of at least ST4 level clinical training are essential requirements. Practical laboratory experience in cell culture and cell-based assays are desirable. The fellow will participate in the neurosurgery registrar on call rota and in daily clinical neurosurgery teaching.
