•  King’s College NHS Foundation Trust

The fellowship was established nearly 20 years ago with almost all previous fellows securing consultant posts in the UK or abroad. The fellowship is for one year during which the candidates obtain first-hand experience in adult and paediatric deep brain stimulation and epilepsy as well as exposure to neurosurgery for intractable pain. There is a very active academic programme to which the fellow is expected to contribute, including presenting at national/ international meetings and publishing peer reviewed papers.

  • St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

The Fellowship in Functional Neurosurgery at St George’s Hospital in London provides a comprehensive hands-on training in stereotactic and functional neurosurgery. Procedures performed include deep brain stimulation, lesional surgery, spinal neuromodulation, epilepsy surgery, and intrathecal drug delivery. We have close collaborations with multidisciplinary teams in movement disorders, epilepsy, and pain. Significant academic exposure is available with established groups in neuroimaging, neurophysiology, and neuropsychology. Finally, conference attendance, presentations, and training courses from local to international level are supported.
